Realme Discontinues Entire Laptop Lineup in India

Realme has officially stopped selling its entire range of laptops in India, abruptly exiting the notebook segment it entered just over 2 years ago.

The company confirmed that the Realme Book series has been discontinued locally and removed from its Indian website after a user inquiry on Twitter. This comes on the heels of Realme apparently shutting down its smart TV business recently too.

Launched in August 2021, the laptop lineup included the mainstream Realme Book and premium Realme Book Prime models aimed at students and young professionals. But fans looking to purchase these devices will now no longer find them available.

While Realme Books still remain listed on the brand’s China site, the complete disappearance of the laptops from India raises questions about the company’s commitment to developing its nascent computer portfolio amidst rumors of poor after-sales support and spare parts scarcity.

For Indian customers hoping to pick up an affordable Realme computing device, the road ahead looks rocky. The brand’s strategy of diving into new gadget categories and subsequently struggling to sustain them long-term continues to alienate its loyal followers.
